The Dave Hopkins Bookin' 5k is part of the Wadsworth Race Series featuring 3 races:

Nathan's Run

The Matchstick Challenge 5k, 10k and Half Marathon

5k Race Start:  9:00am

1 Mile Fun Walk:  Will Start 5-10 mins after the 5k runners have cleared the start line

All race proceeds will provide additional funding to assist with the “extras” that the library’s general fund cannot completely support.  This includes early child literacy programming, Summer Reading Program, special community events including Scare on the Square and the quarterly program newsletter.  The foundation recently purchased a van for the library to use for all Outreach Services within the Wadsworth community as well as funding a majority of the Children's Department renovation. So as the library gives back to the community, we feel it's time to give as well, so come help us support this great cause!

One new aspect to this year's race is the Elementary School Challenge. The Wadsworth elementary (including Sacred Heart and CIS) that has the greatest percentage participation in the race will receive $500 from the Wadsworth Library Foundation to use for book purchases in their school library. This can include current and past students, parents, and friends of any of the K-6 schools in Wadsworth!

This year's race will take you through the streets of downtown Wadsworth starting and finishing at the library.  For a course map, click here!

All 5k run race registrants will receive a medal, drawstring goodie bag, post event food and access to the Herb and Craft Festival in downtown Wadsworth! All Fun Walk participants will receive a drawstring goodie bag and those walkers under 16 will receive a medal.

Pricing will be as follows:

$25 5K Run

$15 Fun Walk-1 Mile

$10 Fun Walk-1 Mile for Children (Under 18)

$30 Family of 5 Walk-1 Mile

Awards will also be given out to the following 5k participants:

• Top 3 overall male and female
• Top 3 male and female in each age group-10&u, 11-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+
