The 2020 Wooster Brick Run

It's been awesome having the Wooster Brick Run back in Wooster since 2016, but guess what....Flickinger Hill still isn't flat, so, we have another race to put on! Back for 2020 -- The Wooster Brick Run!

For many years, the Wooster Brick Run was considered the most popular running event in Wooster. Whether they started at Freelander Park, the YMCA or at the high school, one thing was for sure, upon your finish, you got a Wooster Paver Brick. Early records indicate that the manufacturing of bricks in Wayne County began around 1872. The northwest corner of Wayne County contained large deposits of clay and shale, important for brick making. Most Wooster bricks were manufactured at a plant located at the corner of Bowman Street and Mechanicsburg Road. “Wooster Pavers,” were used as curb bricks. By the late 1960s the company had closed. Over the last 50 years, these collectible bricks have started to dwindle away, but some still remain-most of those that are in good condition are in the houses of the local runners who ran this back in the day. Well, not only did we find some, and in good condition...we're giving them away as awards-again in 2020!

The bricks will be awarded to the top 3 males, top 3 females, top overall male and female Masters(40-49), and top overall male and female Grandmasters(50+). All awards will be based off of finish time, regardless of starting time. Each registration comes with a $10 Vertical Runner of Wooster Gift card and a commemorative gift with logo replicating the original Wooster Paver bricks.  Commemorative gifts will be guaranteed to those registered by August 23.

Brick Run 25k (run only)-  $15.00 through June 30, $20.00 July 1 through race week

Brick Run and $5 donation to the scholarship fund- $20.00 through June 30, $25.00 July 1 through race week

Brick Run and donation to the scholarship fund with a long sleeve tech shirt- $30.00 through June 30, $35.00 July 1 through race week

The race will start at 7:00am and also include wave starts at 7:30am and 8:00am, Please choose your start time based on your predicted finish. No early starts!
