UPDATE: We are very sorry to announce, that due to the COVID-19 guidelines currently in place, the 2020 Summer Running Camp will not be able to take place. Those who were all ready registered will receive refunds the week of May 25. Please join us in the summer of 2021 for what will be THE BEST Summer Running Camp to date! In the mean time, encourage your little runner to run with you and stay active!
Time to show our kids what us adults already know...Running is FUN!!! Back for its 8th year, Vertical Runner of Wooster is excited to offer this summer running camp for kids ages 5-12 which will prepare them to run and finish the Heart and Sole 5k in Downtown Wooster on August 1 while teaching them proper warm-up, form, cool down, and more. The camp will run for 5 weeks and will be held each Tuesday/Thursday from 6:30pm - 7:30pm at Memorial Park in Wooster, OH. There will be plenty of experienced coaches on hand to guide your little runner to their goal while making it fun. Each session will have the same format: Dynamic warm-up, workout, fun group activity, proper cool down, and SNACK!
Specific dates for the Camp are:
June 30
July 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, 30
Cost of the Camp will be $85 for each child with special family pricing available ($160 for 2 children, $235 for 3 children from the same family), and will include the 10 practice sessions with coaches, a camp Tech shirt ($25 value), a $10 Vertical Runner Gift Card ($10 value), entry to the Wooster Wellness Kids mile ($15 value), entry to the Heart and Sole 5k ($25 value), Coupon for 15% off youth shoes at Vertical Runner Wooster, all snacks and activities, visitation from vendors, and tons of fun/experience for the little runner in your family! The activities at the camp will be brought to us by Camp Nuhop, and are professionally crafted to keep our children moving!
During all of the races during the session, our coaches will be running with the kids to help them reach their goal while keeping them safe out on the course.
Due to limited space at the Park, and keeping a low camper to Staff ratio, there will be a cap placed on registration, so sign up soon to secure your spot. The camp has grown from 30 participants in 2013 to nearly 150 kids each of the past few years and we are sure it will be an overstuffed field in 2020! This will be a camp you will not want to miss, so don't risk being left out, register now!
